Dr Anish Banerjee is the Zonal Vice President for Eastern India and also the Chair for Disaster Medicine Section of SEMI. Dr. Anish is Secretary of the Disaster Medicine Special Interest Group of the IFEM. He is an examiner for the MRCEM examination of the UK Royal College of Emergency Medicine and is also Course Director (India) for the Fellowship in Acute Care Medicine (FACM) program of George Washington University, USA.
He is the current Group Head for Acute Care with Glocal Healthcare Hospitals. Over the last 5 years, his team has operationalized & is actively running 12 emergency rooms, ICU & acute care services in Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities & towns across 5 states. Presently, his team is also actively involved in developing the Telemedicine services at Primary Health Centers in collaboration with the state governments, IPE Global and CSC e-governance team of IT ministry across the country. In the past, he was part of the group that built & operationalised the emergency medicine departments of Peerless Hospital & Medica Synergie hospitals. He had also worked in AMRI group to rebuild the emergency operations after the hospital was devastated by fire.
Dr. Anish is also working with the West Bengal Government in a pilot project to develop emergency response plans and conduct training in State Government run hospitals. He has worked as contributing author for the National Hospital Safety Guidelines under NDMA. He has participated, taught and led, hospital disaster management track in EMEx exercises and workshops across the country in 9 states under the NDMA. He has worked with south 24 Parganas district administration and contributed to development of emergency response plan of Sagar Mela Mass Gathering.
Dr Banerjee is a vinyl record collector and a photographer. He loves food and trained as a Chocolaterie Chef with Callebaut Academy.
