Society for Emergency Medicine India (2018 – 2020)

Dr. Imron Subhan is a graduate of Bangalore Medical College and completed his Fellowship in EM from Christian Medical College Vellore. In 2007, he was among the first three doctors to gain MRCEM qualification in India. With over 14 years of experience in EM and EMS, he is the current Head of Emergency Departments at Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad. He is the Residency Director and Examiner for MRCEM and Diploma-EM residency training programs.

Dr. Imron is the Immediate Past President and has extensive experience of working with the SEMI National Board. He was the National President (2016-2018), General Secretary (2014-2016), National Treasurer (2012-2014), and Joint Treasurer (2011-2012) for SEMI. Having gained his management experience from XLRI Jamshedpur, he was instrumental in bringing financial discipline and transparency into SEMI. He continues to work towards improving governance and quality control within SEMI. As organizing secretary of EMCON 2015 at Hyderabad, he was responsible for introducing the Young Faculty lectures, Aero-medical care workshops and Women Emergency Physicians panel, first time in India.

He is the Vice-Chair for IFEM Special Interest Group for Gender-Specific Issues, and an active member of the Geriatric EM special interest group; and is working towards sensitizing Indian EM in these two areas.

As AHA Regional Faculty (Asia Pacific region) since 2010, he actively promotes resuscitation science in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan. He helped the Rollout of AHA 2015 Guidelines in India.

He is founder of the website www.emergencymedicine.in which is the most trusted news repository for EM related news in India.

In his free time, he is known to enjoy trekking across high altitude glaciers in the Himalayas. He is an avid fan of technology, space exploration and brand marketing. He speaks English, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu and Hindi.
